My primary concern is you, then your baby, then you again.
My offerings
Birth and Postnatal support is tailored to you.
It is important that my offerings are tailored around your needs and expectations. This will look different for everyone. By chatting together we can adjust a package to enable your experience to be just as you hope for. I will give you time and space to say anything you want, and ask the questions you wish to, without fear of being judged, ever.
During the last weeks of pregnancy we will get to know each other well, plan for your birth - wherever you are hoping that will be, and we will make some plans for your fourth trimester too.
When you are in labour I will support and advocate for you.
My postnatal support starts immediately after your baby is born, for both you and your baby.
I live on the border of Derbyshire/South Yorkshire, and cover most of this area, including Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Bakewell, Matlock and more… if I haven’t mentioned your area please do ask!
As well as in person/face to face support, I offer virtual doula support.
I offer a free first hour meet-up, so we can chat about how I can best support you as your doula. In this session we will talk about your hopes, concerns, likes and dislikes, plans, previous experiences… plus a whole lot more.
Here are some examples of some specialised experience I can offer which can be explored further when we chat together:
-
People and families with disabilities
Having worked and lived with people and family members with disabilities, I can help tailor your experience with the additional support, if needed.
-
Bereavement support
Sometimes the birth of a new baby brings up feelings of grief, past or present. Having my own life experience, and training as a bereavement listener, I will provide a safe space for you during difficult times.
-
Spirituality
As a Christian, I know how important it is to include faith and spirituality in birth preparation, and when planning for the postnatal weeks and months. I offer prayer and pastoral support if this is something which resonates with you.
3 Step Rewind
Was your pregnancy and birth a positive time? How do you feel about your breastfeeding experience? Do you have feelings of sadness, disappointment or even trauma when you think about this, or a previous experience?
Your partner may also have feelings they were not expecting to be left with.
The 3 step rewind method is a very gentle and safe way to help you change the way you process your memory, and gain freedom from the challenging or distressing experience. I offer this as an additional or stand alone service.
I can also offer you: time for you to rest, heal and bond; birth debrief; sleep support; help you find answers to those baby questions we all have in the first few weeks; meal preparation; sibling care and involvement; wider family support; small pet care; light household duties and more.
