My primary concern is you, then your baby, then you again.
What I can offer you
Birth and Postnatal support is tailored to you.
It is important that what I offer you is tailored around your needs and expectations. This will look different for everyone. By chatting with you, we can come up with a tailored package to enable your experience to be as good as it possibly can. I will give you time and space to be who you want to be, and say the things you want to say, ask the things you want to ask without fear of being judged, ever.
I firstly offer a free meeting to help us get to know how I can best support you as your doula. In this session we will talk about your wishes, concerns, likes and dislikes, plans, previous experiences… plus a whole lot more.
Here are some examples of some specialised experience I can offer which can be explored further when we chat together:
-
People and families with disabilities
Having worked and lived with people and family members with disabilities, I can help tailor your experience with the additional support if needed.
-
Bereavement support
Sometimes the birth of a new baby brings up feelings of grief, past or present. My own life experience and training as a bereavement listener can provide a space for people during difficult times.
-
Spirituality
As a Christian, I know how important people’s faith is to them. I offer prayer and pastoral support if this is something which resonates with you.
3 Step Rewind
Was your pregnancy and birth a positive time? How do you feel about your breastfeeding experience? Do you have feelings of sadness, disappointment or even trauma when you think about it?
Your partner may also have feelings they were not expecting to be left with.
The 3 step rewind method is a very gentle and safe way to help you change the way you process your memory, and gain freedom from the challenging or distressing experience. I offer this as an additional or stand alone service.
I can also offer you: time for you to rest, heal and bond; birth debrief; sleep support; help you find answers to those baby questions we all have in the first few weeks; meal preparation; sibling care and involvement; wider family support; small pet care; light household duties and more.
